Known in over 220 countries and territories around the world for his work

himself as an insatiably curious, determined, and authentic host who loves
taking viewers along on adventures from the Amazon to the Arctic
to explore the wonders and mysteries of our planet.
In 2015, Josh signed a multi-year contract with the Smithsonian
Institution to found Explorer At Large, a formal STEM
education program that inspires students to become
explorers in their classrooms and communities.
In the years since, Explorer At Large
has successfully produced and piloted its
content in Ohio classrooms, offering a
mix of immersive videos hosted by
Josh and standards-aligned activities
designed by teachers and educators.
In 2020, Josh was invited by the Aldrin
Family Foundation to join Project Ianos
as Content Team Leader and bring Explorer
At Large's pedagogy to NASA-inspired content.

"Andy [Aldrin] and I have been friends and dive
buddies for years and we were always looking
for ways to join forces in the education world,"
says Bernstein. "When the possibility to create
Project Ianos came up, I jumped at the
opportunity. It's an honor to work
with this team and with NASA."
